I am sure everyone understands that there is a recession in the west and there is no worthy option of investing other than gold, and hence the gold price increase. However in a country like India growing at about 8%, what is the worry? Why should gold go up? Sure, there is a demand for ornamental gold, and people are a little conservative, but what is the rationale for this steep increase? Can someone explain?
