Karamadai, Feb 22, 2010 : The Arulmiga Aranganathar Temple Car Festival was inauguarated with the hoisiting of the flag this afternoon at 12.15pm. The flag is hoisted after the eagle circles the temple and this happened today around noon. Once, the visit by the eagle was confirmed, the temple flag was hoisted. Today is the first day of the festival and this marks the beginning of the week long celebration at Karamadai. The locality is full festive mood with the application for liquor shops to be closed for the next week and also arrangements for alternate routes and transport due to the crowd for this festival. The authorities are expected to have planned well for this event.
